About Me
JOHN LABOTS, CGD
It would seem that I was born a graphic designer
Beginning with early art projects and school reports, I have always been interested in assembling images and words on the page. Now, with more than 35 years of experience in the business of graphic design, a deep passion for this art form still remains.
Graphic design is about more than making things look artistically pleasing. It is also about the "art" of organizing. My success as a designer lies in keeping a close eye on the details.

A return to the tactile
With a focus for many years on graphic design using the computer as the primary tool, I found myself wanting to return to a tactile hands-on approach in creating art. Working in mostly acrylics, I have rediscovered the wonderful pleasure of “getting my hands dirty”.
Painting has given me a heightened awareness and appreciation for the nuance of colour. It has changed the way I see the world around me.
